TESTIMONIALS

RACHEL K

Charlie is a great teacher with a lovely manner, patient approachable and encouraging. I started off with no skills or confidence and Charlie has completely changed that. He tailors our sessions to what I’m most interested in and is always happy to answer any questions. I love my lessons and recommend him to anyone of any age or ability

FRANK L

Charlie has been teaching our 13 year old son since 2016 – from an absolute novice to picking up the percussion prize at school, Julian has gained immense confidence and self esteem from participation in different music groups and performing in front of an audience.
Charlie is very understanding, gives plenty of positive encouragement and has been a great mentor to Julian. He always looks forward to the lessons and emerges with a big smile on his face after each session.

MAGGI L

I have long had the desire to learn the art of drumming. Charlie has been a fantastic teacher from day one and taught me so much. He is professional, knowledgeable and inspiring. Even in lockdown I’m learning so much and would hate to miss a lesson. He’s always there if I need a question answered, nothing is too much trouble. Thanks Charlie for finding the ‘soul’ in my music.

JUSTIN C

Charlie is an excellent teacher, truly passionate about the instrument and his depth of knowledge is immense!
Not only does he teach you how to play but he’s taught me so much about drumming in general, history, styles, reading and writing – a really holistic approach, all taught in a friendly and informal manner, no ego’s here!
As well as that Charlie is very pro practice and he has really instilled into me the importance of focused practice which I now see as vital to advancing in your chosen art.
My drumming has improved massively and my drumming will continue to improve with the tools Charlie has given me, thanks Charlie!

MAEVE K

Being an adult student Charlie had the patience to understand work-life balance and drum lessons were always fun and really informative. Not only would Charlie show me how to play a piece of music by ear and by sheet music, he would also explain why the piece of music was structured in a certain way to get a true understanding of how it works overall. I love the fact that when I listen to any music now I always try to look out for the drum pattern and don’t feel overwhelmed by trying to figure it out all at once but instead tackle it bit by bit. Charlie gave me his full attention and focus within the lesson and always made me feel at ease and encouraged. Charlie also gave me great confidence and skills to be able to play the drums… no hesitation in recommending Charlie to both adults and children wanting to play the drums either for fun or for grades. Top class teacher!
